Mission

We, the Sisters of St. John the Baptist (Baptistine Sisters) , an international group of consecrated women in the Catholic Church, living together as a community to reveal and give witness to Jesus of Nazareth, in the light and in the hope of the coming of the Kingdom of God.

Vision

We work for the glory of God in the service of our neighbour through evangelization, education, and human promotion of children and youth especially those who are poor, abandoned and at risk. We serve as educators, administrators, pastoral, social workers, health professionals and caregivers.

Charism

To live our spousal relationship with Jesus of Nazareth who, in total abandonment to the will of the Father, proclaims the kingdom of God, is compassionate toward all, especially to the little ones and the poor. John the Baptist is the privileged guide who leads us to Jesus in preparing the way for Him, in recognizing Him and pointing Him out to the world in decreasing that he may increase.

The choice to become a Sister is really a response to an invitation and a plan – God’s loving call and God’s unique plan.  In almost every religious tradition there are those who are called forth from the community of faith to serve and to lead the community by example in their faith journey. In accepting this call, the individual promises in a public way to put God first.

Father Founder and the Eucharist

Don Alfonso Maria Fusco spent hours on his knees before the Blessed Sacrament. The long hours in prayer became his source of wisdom, insight and great zeal to win many souls to God. He had a deep trust in Divine Providence and his sole desire was to do God’s will which he saw in all situations of his life.

PILGRIMAGE TO THE FOUNDATION PLACE

The sisters in the Zambian Province took a pilgrimage to St Joseph Mission, the place where it all started, the place where the three pioneer sisters, Sr. Alberta Stango, Sr. Augustine Stango and Sr. Alphonsina Silecchia, who arrived on 24th October, 2023. Among the Pilgrims, there were Aspirants, Postulants, Novitiate, sisters, the Postulants from the OFM Conventuals, Auxiliary Staff, some teachers, and few of our families and relations.
